Workshops

For Students

Creative Character Voices & Choices

Have you ever wondered how you can change the pitch, tone or timbre of your voice to create interesting vocal variations for your characters?

This workshop is an exploration of character and creature voice choices.  You will be acting, creating, and performing in this workshop.

Text Ease… Memorizing Text is as simple as 1 2 3!

Have you ever wondered how actors learn all those lines? Have you been frustrated or felt overwhelmed when facing the memorization of your lines?

This step-by-step method will have you “off-book” in no time!  You will be working with text and learning how to memorize your lines in this workshop. If time allows we will share our work.

Auditioning for the Camera:
Tips & Techniques

You will learn how to "hit your mark", work your eye lines, decipher "sides" and prep an audition for self-taping or casting directors!

You will have the opportunity to act in this workshop and also be a reader for a fellow actor!

For Teachers

Get in the Room with Zoom

This workshop will take you through the step-by-step inner workings of the Zoom platform and how to set it up for a scene work class.

You will learn how to control participant views, share screen and sound, chat features, hide non-participants and then conduct a sample scene class using the platform.

If possible, participants should watch on one device (phone or tablet) and work on their laptop to set up their own class session.

Diamonds of Directing

Let’s explore the art of directing as a process of discovery.

What if you discovered what the play was about with your cast and crew instead of making all the decisions in advance?

Join me on this journey as we use my “Diamonds of Directing” process to build a concept and performances that are truly gems!

Yvette is a very good communicator with a knack for rallying the troops,
be they a ragged artistic team or a wiggly student group.
Yvette is inspiring!
